The day after his execution, countless people shared the 1936 image of the NAACP flag, "A MAN WAS LYNCHED YESTERDAY," an image I wish didn't apply almost 100 years later.
There is no justice in the death penalty. We must do all we can to abolish it so that no one else will become another victim of lynching's stepchild. This sticker is an aspirational redesign—the flag I hope we can one day fly when the death penalty is no longer a part of our society.
